PT Bakrie Pipe Industries won the Blue award in the 2022-2023 Company Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management (PROPER). The award presentation was presented on March 7, 2024, at Gedung Sate Bandung, West Java, with Mrs. Holillah, HSE Engineer, as the BPI representative. It's the second award for BPI after previously achieving the same ranking in the 2021-2022 period.
PROPER, a program developed by the Ministry of the Environment (KLH) in 1995, encourages companies to improve environmental management. The PROPER assessment uses a gold, green, blue, red, and black color scale, which reflects the company's environmental management reputation. By obtaining a PROPER Blue Certificate, BPI shows that they have fulfilled KLH requirements in various aspects, such as water management, land damage, B3 waste, air pollution, and water pollution.
PROPER is a government policy that aims to improve the company's environmental management performance under regulation, which also reflects the transparency and democratization of ecological management in Indonesia. Its interests are legally regulated in the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 1 of 2021 and also a part of the Ministry of Environment's efforts to apply the principles of good governance in environmental management.
BPI remains consistent in maintaining environmental sustainability in line with its business development, with a commitment to innovation and collaboration in implementing environmental management according to regulations.
