BPI at SNI Goes to Campus: Preparing the Standard-Based Industry Generation

July 24, 2026
SNI Goes to Campus was part of the 8th Gunadarma Industrial Engineering Fair (GIEF) on July 23, 2026, bringing together academia, regulators, and industry. Held at Universitas Gunadarma, the event became an important forum to discuss how standards play a role in preparing young generations to compete in the workforce.

PT Bakrie Pipe Industries took part through the presence of Ms. Rizki Pirsiani, S.T., Management Representative of BPI, who delivered a presentation titled “Standard-Based Industry: What Should the Young Generation Understand?”. In her session, Rizki introduced BPI’s steel pipe products certified with SNI and emphasized how standards serve as the foundation of quality, safety, and global competitiveness.

The key message was that standards are a business obligation to maintain customer trust, ensure product consistency, uphold workplace safety, improve productivity, and secure business sustainability. Industry today also demands broader competencies from graduates, not only high GPAs or relevant majors, but also integrity, quality mindset, problem-solving, critical thinking, HSE awareness, data analysis, communication, and adaptability. These are essential skills for facing change, including digital transformation.

Rizki also highlighted career opportunities in standard-based industries, ranging from management system auditors, QA/QC engineers, welding inspectors, to supply chain officers. She shared a simple yet powerful formula for success: Knowledge + Skills + Attitude + Standard Mindset = Industry Ready.

The participation of PT Bakrie Pipe Industries in SNI Goes to Campus reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the development of human resources grounded in standards. Through collaboration between academia, regulators, and industry, students were encouraged to see standards not merely as technical documents, but as strategic assets for competing nationally and globally.
